This event, organized by the French Ministry of Research, will take place between October 8th-14th, 2007 all over France:
- In the framework of this event the Modane Underground Laboratory will participate to the "village des sciences Maurienne". Come visit the laboratory the October 8-9th, 2007!
- At the Moulon Farm near Paris, educational workshops will be organised October 13-14th, 2007 with the participation of the CEA/Saclay.

On May 27, 2007, the Gran Sasso National Laboratory organised the 7th edition of the Open Day event, in collaboration with the "Associazione per l'Insegnamento della Fisica". This day was rich in various educational and hands-on activities such as contests, exhibitions, shows and conferences. Guided visits to the Laboratory were proposed as well.
The communication working group of ILIAS/N2 greatly contributed to the success of this events via posters, brochures and documentaries about the four main European underground laboratories, and by helping with the guided visits. The ILIAS/N2 working group has participated to this event every year since 2005.

This is the largest underground Laboratory worldwide with about 1400 m rock coverage. It is located between the towns of L'Aquila and Teramo, about 120 km from Rome on one side of the ten kilometres long freeway tunnel crossing the Gran Sasso Mountain. The Laboratory arranges, on Saturdays and Sundays and upon reservation, free guided tours of the external as well as underground structures. The Boulby Underground Laboratory is the UK's only deep underground science facility. It is located 1100m below ground in Boulby Mine, near Whitby on the North East coast of England. Find out more about visits, talks and demonstration via the link below
